Well, on this day a year ago I shared with you my 15-year goals — the body of work I hope to finish by January 2040. Hard as it is to believe, we’ve already burned off one of those years, and now I only have 14 years to work with!
Happy New Year to each of you. I pray for you the richest of the Lord’s blessings in 2026.
First of all, I want to announce a new podcast: Enthusiastic Ideas. This will contain the audio recordings of me reading the daily pages from the two Enthusiastic Ideas books. You can subscribe to this daily podcast at your favorite podcast source, like Apple, Spotify, or YouTube.
With God’s great help, I was able to meet my 2025 writing goals for Walking in Christ. I’ll have to keep my head down and stay focused in order to finish the remaining pages and have the book in your hands by the end of this year, but I believe it is doable. The writing of this book has been a wonderful experience for me personally. As you can imagine, writing a book on this topic has provided an opportunity for me to grow spiritually, so I give thanks for the blessings this project has brought to me in my walk in Christ.
I have put myself on a Monday-Thursday writing schedule for Walking in Christ. I try to write one page a day on each of those days, for a total of four pages per week. This has proven to be a workable schedule, and at four pages per week, I can make significant progress on the work as a whole. This then gives me three days a week to work on the many other things that have to be done.
I will begin work, Lord willing, on Seeking God in the Psalms this month. My goal is to finish six lessons each year (one every other month) and keep doing that until the project is complete — which will contain fifty-two lessons! Pray that the Lord will grant me the 8-9 years needed to finish this work.
My support situation is stable as we begin this new year, for which I give thanks. I especially want to thank one individual. Although he won’t be happy about me mentioning this publicly, I want you to know about Dick Dabney in College Station, Texas. Last year when I lost some support, Dick stepped in and agreed to personally pick up the lost support and even increase the amount. Dick has been a dear friend for many years, and his kindness to me is extraordinary. I hope you’ll say his name in your prayers to the Lord and give thanks for his graciousness.
My health situation is also stable, thanks to God. It is a complicated set of challenges, but things seem to be holding steady, allowing me to keep working. I take each day one at a time and do whatever I can do with that day’s strength, always conscious that it’s only by the Lord’s grace that any of us can participate in His work. I am glad for the productive hours given to me each day.
Thanks for your help, your prayers, and your financial support. You are a blessing. As we begin a new year on the calendar, may we all enter enthusiastically into the work of the Lord — and eagerly look forward to His return!
