Meditations for Daily Growth
Obeying the Gospel
Confessing Our Sins (August 28)
Confession of sin comes from “a broken and contrite heart” (Psalm 51:17), and it hurts. But the joy of forgiveness is on the other side of this sorrow, and the process of confessing our sins and properly grieving them should not be rushed through.
Diligently Seeking God
Ordinary Trials, Extraordinary Results (August 28)
The glory ahead will be out of all proportion to the often dull and unexciting affliction that will have produced it. We should not underestimate ourselves. The humdrum appearance of our lives often conceals the fact that something great is going on.
Reaching Forward
What Would Be On Your Reading List? (August 28)
When we see life’s sun setting and we know our time is running out, we tend to see what’s important more clearly. But in truth, we don’t have to wait until old age or a dire doctor’s report. We can concentrate on what’s most important right now.
Enthusiastic Ideas
Validation (August 28)
We shouldn’t be afraid to bring any idea into the sunlight. If it is valid, the light will demonstrate that, and if not, the sooner we find out, the better. Ultimately, time will tell. Truth will be left standing when its competitors have vanished.

Challenging Every Person to Take God More Seriously
Is devotion to God your primary passion? Our daily devotionals and Bible studies are designed to help you pursue this goal. More than mere fluff, our readings are “devotionals with a difference.” If you’re ready to reach toward spiritual growth, we’re here to support you.

Devotional Meditation
Rather than thinking about God casually, meditation is a deep pondering of His truth. When we meditate devotionally, the facts about God are given more than a “passing glance.” We think about them intently and lovingly so their meaning can truly sink in.

Daily Devotional Books
Unfortunately, many of the best-selling devotionals are popular not because they produce greater devotion to God but because they give the reader a sugary “high.” They aim to make the reader feel better, but they do little to stimulate significant spiritual growth.

Devotion to God
Devotional strength must be built up by constant, disciplined practice over time. Paul reminded his young friend Timothy of this when he said, “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Timothy 4:15).

DFBS 210 – The Christian has hope because he has been born again
Since the Christian has been born twice (once physically and once spiritually), he has but one death to anticipate. Because he has been reborn spiritually, he need not fear the “second death” that would otherwise follow his physical death.
