As the weather begins to remind us of the yearly renewal of life, I pray that you are well, physically and spiritually.

I am sorry for the lateness of this report. I have been sidelined with some new health issues, including a kidney stone that put me in the hospital for a few days. However, I am doing somewhat better, grateful for God’s grace throughout this episode. Thanks to so many of you for your prayers and concern on my behalf.

Lord willing, I will be having cataract surgery in April. I would certainly appreciate your prayers about that.

I am enjoying the work I’m doing on the next book, Walking in Christ. Since the first of the year, I have not finished as many pages as I had hoped, but I have done a great deal of the mental work that precedes the actual writing. One of the joys of the work I do is that it gives me the opportunity to study and think about important subjects, and to profit from this study in my own daily walk. Walking in Christ has allowed me to go back and restudy many of the fundamental truths concerning what’s involved in living as a Christian — and it has been rewarding to see how much I have grown in my understanding of these things since I first began studying them as a young man.

After a good deal of indecision, I have decided to set up a separate website called “Are You a Christian?” All of the content has been in the book Obeying the Gospel, published several years ago, and it has been on my website at wordpoints.com. The material will continue to reside on wordpoints.com, but I am setting up an additional website at areyouachristian.com. This will give the material greater visibility on search engines, and be a more easily accessible tool for use in evangelism. The new website is not yet ready, but I will let you know when it is up and running.

Correspondence continues to occupy a good portion of my time. With physical letters, email, text messages, social media messaging, voice mail, etc., I seem always to be playing catch-up, but I do not begrudge this work. The personal connections that have been forged as a result of the writing, are treasured blessings that I am constantly thanking God for. The personal correspondence is an important part of the work I am privileged to do. The opportunity to encourage and be encouraged, is something I do not take lightly.

Once I get past the cataract surgery, my main goal for the remainder of the year will be to focus on finishing as many pages in Walking in Christ as I can. These days, I work with a great deal more peace and contentment, so however many pages I’ve been able to complete by year’s end, I’ll give thanks for that. But I hope to make significant progress on that project as my top priority.

I thank you for your continued financial — and emotional — support. One of my doctors recently asked me about how my work is supported, and when I told him, he could hardly believe it. He was just amazed that people would be so generous. But he doesn’t know the Lord’s people as I do. I am no longer “surprised” at your generosity — but neither do I take it for granted. I never forget that your part in this work will always be essential.
