Meditations for Daily Growth
Obeying the Gospel
The Incarnate Word (June 3)
The Incarnation was a necessary miracle. Out of all our problems, there is only one that required God to become flesh: the problem of sin. To fix that problem God had to die in our place, and to do that He had to become a man capable of being killed.
Diligently Seeking God
Longing for Lost Fellowship (June 4)
Even if we allow Christ to bring us into a redeemed earthly relationship with God, our connections in this world will only be a foretaste of the fellowship that waits for us later. Yet this hope is the single thing in life most worthy of our pursuit.
Reaching Forward
We Learn More from Losing Things (June 4)
When the things you cherish are taken away from you, you will grow in wisdom. You’ll learn more from losing things than you ever learned by gaining them. And what you’ll learn is that God is all you have to have, the one thing you can’t do without.
Enthusiastic Ideas
Planting (June 4)
By far the best planting we ever do is not agricultural but personal. When we make new beginnings with other people, either by entering into new relationships or doing things that reinvigorate old ones, we are “planting” in the very highest sense.
Challenging Every Person to Take God More Seriously
Is devotion to God your primary passion? Our daily devotionals and Bible studies are designed to help you pursue this goal. More than mere fluff, our readings are “devotionals with a difference.” If you’re ready to reach toward spiritual growth, we’re here to support you.

Devotional Meditation
Rather than thinking about God casually, meditation is a deep pondering of His truth. When we meditate devotionally, the facts about God are given more than a "passing glance." We think about them intently and lovingly so their meaning can truly sink in.

Daily Devotional Books
Unfortunately, many of the best-selling devotionals are popular not because they produce greater devotion to God but because they give the reader a sugary "high." They aim to make the reader feel better, but they do little to stimulate significant spiritual growth.

Devotion to God
Devotional strength must be built up by constant, disciplined practice over time. Paul reminded his young friend Timothy of this when he said, "Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all" (1 Timothy 4:15).

DFBS 319 – God wants us to give a worthy effort to our daily work
One day, we will answer for how we have used all that God has given us. When that time comes, we will want to be able to look back on a lifetime of work that was trustworthy. We will not want to be workers “ashamed” of our work (2 Timothy 2:15).
